I’ve worked in the financial sector my whole career, starting out in banking and building societies, where, latterly, I was a qualified mortgage adviser.
Four years ago, I decided to take on a new challenge and moved to a role as administrator with Robson Laidler Wealth. Here, I enjoy working closely with clients, helping to solve problems, and making the office run smoothly.
I take a lot of satisfaction out of mentoring others and learning something new every day. The proudest moment of my career to date was training and mentoring a member of staff fresh from leaving school to go on to become a fully qualified mortgage adviser.
The things I enjoy most about my work are getting to know clients, building meaningful relationships, and helping them feel confident about their financial future. I also like problem-solving and making things work behind the scenes, whether it’s untangling admin, supporting the planning process, or finding the best way to do something more efficiently.
No two days in my job are the same, and I really enjoy the variety. Some days, I attend client meetings, other days, I write reports or assist the admin team.
I most enjoy working with people who are teamworkers – open, honest, and happy to share their knowledge and ideas to achieve a common goal.
I live with my husband and two teenage children. The oldest is due to go to university this year, which is both exciting and emotional!
Outside of work, life is full-on, which is just how I like it. I’m often found on the sidelines watching my kids playing football, out walking or running, or improving my gardening knowledge.
I have a love of decorating, and am at my happiest when I have a paintbrush in my hand.
I also enjoy a good pub quiz, and nothing beats a catch-up over cocktails with the girls.
