Hard at work

My journey into financial planning began in an unexpected way – through personal experience.
After working for several years in a law firm, I found myself managing my late father’s estate, which was engaging. Dealing with Inheritance Tax, probate, and financial decision-making during a difficult time gave me a deep appreciation for the importance of clear, compassionate financial advice.
That experience became the driver for a career change. I realised I wanted to help others through their own life transitions, whether that’s planning for retirement, navigating bereavement, or managing intergenerational wealth.
I now work as a wealth administrator at Robson Laidler Wealth, where I support the wider team in preparing review packs, maintaining client records, and ensuring smooth, efficient service for our clients.
The proudest moment of my career to date was making that transition from law into financial planning. This career feels far more aligned with who I am and how I want to help people. Taking that step after years in a completely different profession, and securing a role at a firm whose values match mine, felt like a real turning point.
The things I love about my job are learning from an experienced and forward-thinking team who genuinely care about the work we do, and knowing that the work I’m doing now is laying the foundations of a career I’m excited to grow into.
I most enjoy working with those who are facing big financial decisions and need a little guidance to know where to start. I really like helping people feel more in control and less stressed, especially when things can feel complicated.
